Obeah Guesthouse is an old-school bed & breakfast providing a variety of experiences to both travellers and locals seeking out cultural engagement through food, drink, and music: the true “Holy Trinity” of New Orleans.

Located a quick walk from the French Quarter and Frenchmen street - the heartbeat of the United States, where most of New Orleans’ quintessential jazz clubs are - Obeah Guesthouse is ideally situated in the hip Bywater neighborhood.  Guests are able to experience the vibrant madness of New Orleans and escape to a quiet, tranquil setting to rest and refresh.

During your stay at Obeah, you can take a tour of the best restaurants in town, have a cooking class with our award-winning chefs, or just sit on the porch with a ti-punch - our house cocktail - and a plate of creole-fusion cuisine while listening to local jazz and having a conversation with our community of engaged New Orleanians.  Obeah’s goal is to create what we call the “anti cruise-ship” experience: intimate, thoughtful, and one of a kind.

Obeah (oh-bee-uh), Voodoo, Santería, or Candomblé are the spiritual practices, rooted in Africa, that are definitive of the fabric of everything we love about this magical city: the iconic New Orleans. Obeah Guesthouse celebrates the diasporic worlds of Africa, the Caribbean, and American-Creole heritages, in the epicenter of Creole culture. Our logo is the veve - or symbol - of Papa Legba, whose favor is sought to promote communication and provide safety for travellers.
